“Trump Targets Female Journalists, Sparks Outrage”

In recent times, President Donald Trump has been engaging in confrontations with journalists, often resorting to insults and losing his composure when faced with questions from the press. Female reporters have been particularly targeted by Trump during these incidents. Most notably, two female journalists were at the receiving end of Trump’s anger on Air Force One when they inquired about an MRI scan he underwent, to which Trump claimed ignorance about the scanned body part. This incident further fueled speculations about the health status of the 79-year-old President.

From derogatory remarks like ‘Piggy’ and ‘Ugly’ to broader criticisms of media entities, Trump has consistently displayed a combative attitude towards the press. The Mirror has compiled a list of the latest instances where Trump has verbally attacked the media, coinciding with the launch of a new White House website that criticizes and targets the press.

During a press session known as a ‘gaggle’ aboard Air Force One, Bloomberg’s White House Correspondent, Catherine Lucey, was referred to as ‘Piggy’ by Trump, after questioning him about Epstein-related matters. Trump’s dismissive response to Lucey’s queries highlighted a pattern of disrespectful behavior towards women journalists. This behavior was condemned by the director of the International Women’s Media Foundation, who emphasized that Trump’s insults are gendered attacks aimed at silencing women reporters.

In a separate incident, Trump took aim at ABC News, suggesting the revocation of their license following probing questions from their White House Correspondent, Mary Bruce. Trump labeled Bruce as a “terrible person” and criticized the credibility of ABC News. This episode is part of a larger trend where Trump has threatened TV networks with license removal for what he perceives as biased reporting against him.

Another female journalist, Katie Rogers from The New York Times, faced Trump’s wrath in November, being labeled as “ugly, both inside and out.” The White House has stood by Trump’s controversial comments, with his press secretary defending his direct communication style as a display of transparency.

Under Trump’s administration, attacks on the free press have escalated, exemplified by a newly launched website that identifies media outlets deemed biased against the administration. This platform categorizes critical news articles as “fake news” and includes features like an “offender hall of shame” and a “leaderboard” to track media criticism levels over time. Trump’s ongoing efforts to discredit the media have led to restrictions on journalist access and legal actions against perceived adversaries.
