Heart-wrenching new information has surfaced regarding the passing of a devoted Disney enthusiast, as witnesses recounted the distressing moment they heard a loud noise at the resort.
Summer Equitz, aged 31, sadly took her own life after traveling solo from Illinois to Disney World Florida, separate from her family. She leaped from a 12th-floor balcony in front of both guests and staff at the Contemporary Resort on October 14.
A married couple staying at the hotel shared the heartbreaking experience of witnessing Summer’s fall just 30 feet away from them on the fourth-floor observation deck. According to an incident report from an Orange County Sheriff’s Deputy, they were on the balcony when they heard a sudden noise and saw a woman lying on the ground nearby.
One of the witnesses approached to check on Summer’s condition but noticed she was not breathing. Simultaneously, a hotel staff member, who was on the 15th-floor observation deck with a colleague, arrived at the 12th floor to find a blue tote bag near the railing where Summer had jumped from, as reported by The New York Post.
As per Summer’s LinkedIn profile, she had previously worked as a character performer and entertainment host at Disneyland Anaheim from 2012 to 2015. She and her husband, Nicholas Danlovich, celebrated their honeymoon at Walt Disney World just a year ago, and she had even shared a photo of herself with Bob Iger, the CEO of the Walt Disney Company, captioned as “My life has peaked.”
Tragically, just 10 months before her demise, Summer had announced her pregnancy and posted an ultrasound image, as per the Sun. The joyful photo depicted Summer and her husband in their home kitchen, holding the baby scan. This announcement came shortly after their Disney honeymoon in Orlando, where the tragic incident occurred.
The unfortunate incident happened shortly after another visitor to Disneyland in California passed away after experiencing the Haunted Mansion ride. A woman in her 60s visited the park on October 6, and emergency responders found her unresponsive after the ride. Despite efforts, she was pronounced deceased at a local hospital.
