“British Man Found Dead with Gunshot Wounds in St Lucia”

A man from the United Kingdom was discovered deceased with gunshot injuries in St Lucia on a Tuesday. Identified as Kenrelle O’Flaherty, aged 26, he was residing in Anguilla and was on a visit to St Lucia when the tragic incident occurred in Garrand, Babonneau, situated on the island’s North East coast.

According to the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force, authorities from the Babonneau station were alerted about a motionless body by the roadside around 10:50 pm. Upon reaching the scene, the police found O’Flaherty with visible gunshot wounds. Regrettably, he was pronounced dead at the location.

O’Flaherty, originally hailing from London and living in nearby Anguilla, was believed to be on a brief trip to St Lucia. The duration of his stay on the island before the shooting remains uncertain. The police have initiated a homicide investigation to unravel the circumstances surrounding the tragic event.

A police insider stated, “We urge anyone possessing information to reach out to the major crimes unit. Understanding who he was visiting and the purpose of his presence in the vicinity is crucial. We possess minimal details about the victim, except his British nationality and his proximity to the island. It is imperative to swiftly resolve this matter.”

In another incident, an elderly woman was found deceased on a secluded island after being inadvertently left behind by a cruise ship. Suzanne Rees, aged 80, went missing on Lizard Island in Queensland, Australia, during an organised trek. The cruise ship departed for its next destination without realizing she was absent until hours later.

The family of Ms. Rees criticized Coral Expeditions, a company under the ownership of National Roads and Motorists’ Association (NRMA) in Australia, for what they described as a “lack of care and common sense” in handling the situation during their 60-day cruise.

Mark Fifield, the CEO of Coral Expeditions, expressed, “Upon realising the woman was missing, the crew immediately alerted the authorities, leading to a thorough search operation on land and at sea. Subsequently, Queensland Police informed us of her unfortunate demise on Lizard Island.”

“While investigations are ongoing, we deeply regret this incident and are extending our complete support to the family of the deceased. Our team is in contact with the family, providing assistance during this challenging period. We are collaborating closely with the authorities in the investigation and refraining from further comments until the inquiry progresses.”
