Apple has unveiled iOS 27 at WWDC in California, introducing enhancements such as a smarter Siri assistant, upgraded Apple Intelligence, improved photo editing tools, and new customization options for the Liquid Glass appearance. Alongside these features, Apple is promising a significant performance boost with the new update.
The tech giant anticipates that iOS 27 will enable apps to launch up to 30% faster, enhancing the overall user experience. Additionally, Apple claims that photo loading speeds will increase by up to 70% across devices, while AirDrop transfers will be up to 80% quicker.
Interestingly, the performance enhancements won’t be limited to the latest iPhone models. Through a feature called the CPU scheduler, older devices like the iPhone 11 and iPhone 12 will also experience a noticeable increase in speed and fluidity.
The CPU scheduler optimizes performance by allocating more power to the active app on the screen rather than distributing it evenly across all loaded functions. This dynamic adjustment aims to provide users with a smoother and more efficient device usage experience.
Apple is confident that these improvements will extend the lifespan of aging devices and alleviate the pressure to upgrade phones that are still in good working condition. The company stated, “Improvements across platforms push key system capabilities forward so everyday tasks feel faster, smoother, and more enjoyable.”
While the specific release date for iOS 27 has not been announced, it is expected to be available in September.
