Benjamin Satterley, a renowned English professional wrestler who was a key figure in All Elite Wrestling (AEW) based in the U.S., has passed away at the age of 40. AEW confirmed the news of Satterley’s death, known by his ring name Pac, through their social media platforms on Sunday evening.
The cause of his death has not been disclosed. Satterley was seen wrestling on television the night before, where he faced off against Andrade el Idolo in Chicago.
Born and raised in Newcastle, England, Satterley commenced his wrestling journey in 2004 in the U.K. He made a name for himself in independent wrestling circuits worldwide, including Japan and Mexico, captivating fans with his acrobatic and high-flying maneuvers inside the ring.
Transitioning into the wrestling scene at the age of 18, inspired by his aunt’s passion for WWF, Satterley underwent training and eventually ventured into World Wrestling Entertainment from 2012 to 2018 under the alias Adrian Neville. He later joined the newly established AEW in 2019, engaging in matches with top talents and securing multiple championships, notably becoming the inaugural international champion.
Known for his signature move, the black arrow, a dynamic aerial dive, Satterley was often referred to as “The man that gravity forgot.” Over the years, he portrayed various personas in the ring, including the menacing villain known as “The Bastard.”
Beyond the wrestling realm, Satterley maintained a private life, rarely making public appearances out of character. Following his demise, tributes poured in from colleagues and friends, highlighting his exceptional talent, humility, and dedication to the sport.
Satterley’s passing marks the second loss of an AEW wrestler within a month, following the death of Andy Williams, also known as The Butcher. Williams, who collapsed during a wrestling event in September, was a guitarist for the band Every Time I Die.
Despite his limited social media presence, Satterley shared a photo with Williams on Sept. 17, showcasing their camaraderie in the wrestling locker room.
