A young boy from Calgary who was rescued following a near-drowning incident in a river in British Columbia is currently hospitalized, with his family noting severe lung damage. The incident occurred on August 3rd when nine-year-old Paul-Angelo Warren was swimming and diving in the Shuswap River near Enderby. Witnesses sprang into action after he failed to resurface, pulling him out of the water shortly after he went missing.
According to an official statement from the RCMP, the boy was caught against fallen debris by the river’s strong current before being rescued and administered CPR upon reaching the shore. Authorities estimate that he may have been submerged for up to 10 minutes. Paul-Angelo is now receiving treatment at Vancouver Children’s Hospital, with his family maintaining a constant presence by his side.
Maria Warren, the boy’s mother, expressed her unwavering support, emphasizing her dedication to being present when he regains consciousness. She emphasized the importance of being by his side so that he can see her and hear her voice immediately upon waking up.
