A postcard found in the Epstein files, believed to be written by Jeffrey Epstein to Larry Nassar, the infamous US gymnastics doctor, has been debunked by the FBI. The postcard, dated August 13, 2019, allegedly sent from prison, contains a message referencing shared sentiments towards young women. It also mentions a president with similar inclinations. However, the FBI has dismissed the authenticity of the postcard due to inconsistencies in handwriting and stamping.
The FBI, after examining the postcard, stated that it was fake. They pointed out that the writing did not match Epstein’s handwriting, and the postmark date was after Epstein’s death. Moreover, the return address lacked essential details required for outgoing mail from a prison facility. The Department of Justice clarified that the release of such documents does not validate the claims made within them.
Larry Nassar, a convicted sex offender and former doctor for the US women’s gymnastics team, received the postcard while serving time in a facility in Sumterville, Florida. The postcard was made public during the DOJ’s disclosure of evidence related to Epstein, although its existence was reported by the Associated Press in 2023.
This development sheds doubt on the authenticity of the postcard and emphasizes the importance of verifying information before drawing conclusions.
