“‘Doctor Who’ Actor Noel Clarke Charged With Sexual Offenses”

Noel Clarke, recognized for his role in the science fiction series “Doctor Who,” has been formally charged with six sexual offenses, including two instances of sexual assault, as declared by England and Wales’ Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) on Wednesday. The British artist and director, aged 50 and popular for portraying Mickey Smith on the BBC program between 2005 and 2010, is also confronting one count of exposure and three counts of voyeurism. In legal terms, the charge of voyeurism pertains to the act of observing or recording someone engaged in a private activity without their consent, usually for personal gratification.

The alleged offenses involving Clarke are said to have occurred from 2007 to 2016 and are based on complaints lodged by five women. This development comes after a previous exposé by The Guardian in which 20 women, including individuals who claimed they were subjected to harassment and inappropriate behavior during the filming of “Doctor Who,” accused Clarke of misconduct, allegations that he strongly refuted.

According to The Guardian, the recent charges stem from an investigation initiated in September 2025. Clarke is scheduled to make a court appearance at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on October 21. Apart from his role in “Doctor Who,” Clarke is renowned for his work in creating and starring in the youth crime dramas “Kidulthood” (2006), “Adulthood” (2008), and “Brotherhood” (2016), delving into themes of substance abuse, bullying, and violence on the urban streets of London. He directed “Adulthood” and served as director and producer for “Brotherhood.”

His filmography also includes appearances in “Centurion” (2010), “Fast Girls” (2012), “Star Trek Into Darkness” (2013), and the television series “Bulletproof” (2018-2021).
