A woman caused a significant delay to a flight after engaging in a dispute in the departure lounge and insisting on sitting next to her partner. The incident occurred on November 2, resulting in a delay of one hour and 40 minutes as the couple argued while waiting to board the aircraft. Allegations were made by the woman claiming her partner accused her of infidelity and behaving inappropriately during intimate moments, as well as ogling other female passengers. She also stated that her partner had sexually assaulted her multiple times, backed by medical records.
Upon boarding the Airbus A320 flight UO559 from Da Nang, Vietnam, to Hong Kong, the couple found themselves seated separately. The woman demanded a seat change to be near her boyfriend, causing agitation when informed that the seating arrangement could not be altered. This led to a confrontation with flight attendants, with onlookers witnessing the escalating situation.
The situation further escalated when the woman allegedly pushed a flight attendant and had to be restrained by other crew members. Despite warnings and attempts to calm her down, she continued to act aggressively, resulting in her and her partner being removed from the flight. The aircraft departed approximately 71 minutes behind schedule and landed at Hong Kong International Airport around 10:36 pm.
HK Express, a renowned Hong Kong-based low-cost airline known for its affordable fares and short-haul routes across Asia, operated the flight.
