Bristol City released a statement mourning the loss of Marvin Brown, who joined their academy at eight years old and became the club’s youngest player at just 16 years and 71 days in 1999. Brown also played for England Under-16s and Under-17s before moving to Forest Green Rovers in 2004. As a proud Bristolian, he founded Total Pro Soccer, a youth development center, and served as an Academy coach at Bristol City, contributing significantly to the development of many young players.
The football community is rallying around Brown’s family following his passing. A fundraiser has been set up to support his wife and two daughters, raising over £63,000 in donations. Bristol City has shared a link to the fundraiser and announced a charity match to honor Brown’s memory on November 9, featuring a Marvin Brown XI against a Bristol City XI at Bath City’s Twerton Park ground.
Brown, a Bristol native, spent the majority of his playing career in the west and south-west of England, making notable appearances for Weston-super-Mare, Forest Green, and Truro in addition to his time at Bristol City.
