Mysterious circumstances continue to shroud the fatalities of a social media influencer and her teenage daughter in Rio de Janeiro.
Lidiane Lorenço, 33, and her 15-year-old daughter Miana Sophya were discovered deceased in their residence in Barra da Tijuca, located in the southwest of the city, on October 10. Authorities found Lidiane in a bedroom and Miana in the living room, with no apparent signs of violence on their bodies, as per reports from the local police department, 16th DP.
The family’s legal representative stated that the recent forensic assessment has raised more uncertainties than clarifications regarding the case.
Following a three-hour examination, the lawyer revealed that the only confirmed irregularity was related to the gas installations in the apartment. He mentioned that the heater was installed improperly, and the gas outlet from the chimney was inside the living space.
The lawyer emphasized that law enforcement has not ruled out any possibilities yet, including factors like food-related issues. Further forensic outcomes are awaited as the case remains inconclusive.
Lidiane had moved to Rio a few years ago to pursue medical studies while also engaging in modeling and influencer activities. Miana had joined her mother in Rio after relocating from São Paulo, where she attended school at EEB Irmã Irene.
Shortly after the discovery of their bodies, local authorities stated that no signs of assault were found during the forensic examination at the scene.
The lawyer highlighted the significance of the death certificate, particularly due to the underlying health conditions of the mother and daughter. Lidiane had thrombophilia, a condition that increases clotting risk, whereas Miana had hemophilia, a rare clotting disorder. There was an initial suspicion that Miana may have passed away before Lidiane, based on the differing states of decomposition of their bodies.
