Freeview households have recently been treated to a significant addition to their entertainment lineup. A new channel has just been launched this week, previously only available through premium TV providers like Sky and Virgin Media. This update means that Freeview viewers can now enjoy TLC, a channel renowned for its reality shows, comedy, and movies.
For those unfamiliar, TLC is famous for popular reality programs such as Dr Pimple Popper and Say Yes To The Dress. The channel is now broadening its content library to include a wider range of shows, including sitcoms and blockbuster movies.
Following the recent upgrade, Freeview users will have access to well-loved series like The Big Bang Theory, Mock the Week, and Young Sheldon. Movie enthusiasts can also anticipate watching hit titles like Transformers and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.
Freeview has announced that TLC is currently airing on channel 12, although some households may need to retune their TVs to access it. Additionally, alongside the introduction of TLC, there will be a minor reshuffling of channels. Quest will be moving from Channel 12 to Channel 17 to accommodate TLC, while Really will shift from Channel 17 to Channel 44.
However, not all news is positive. Freeview has confirmed the closure of HGTV, which means shows like My Lottery Dream Home, Celebrity IOU, and Building Alaska will no longer be available on the platform. Other channels being discontinued include HGTV, God TV, and India Today.
