A university student described as “super fit” passed away due to a blocked intestine following severe stomach pain, as revealed today. Joshua Adiefeh, aged 20, tragically died at his university accommodation on September 28, just one week after moving in. The first-year student at Manchester Metropolitan University had been experiencing stomach issues for several weeks, with his health deteriorating rapidly overnight while spending time with his twin brother, Joel, and older brother, Daniel, who were visiting him in his new city.
Despite efforts to seek medical help, Joshua’s condition worsened quickly, and he was found unconscious by his brother Joel upon returning from a store with medication. Despite attempts by paramedics, Joshua was declared deceased within two hours. An autopsy later confirmed that the student, originally from Nottingham, had a blocked intestine, a serious condition with potential complications.
Daniel, the eldest brother and a footballer, fondly remembered Joshua as a selfless and caring individual who was always there to help others. The brothers had enjoyed a pleasant evening together before Joshua fell ill, leading to his untimely passing.
Following Joshua’s death, a memorial event in Nottingham attracted over 300 attendees who came together to honor his life. The North West Ambulance Service offered condolences to Joshua’s family and encouraged them to reach out with any concerns for further investigation.
