Sky has unveiled an exciting new update that is set to shake up the streaming landscape. The company has announced a comprehensive subscription plan that combines popular services like Disney+, Netflix, Hayu, and the upcoming HBO Max app, all for just £24 per month.
This new bundle offers significant savings, with approximately £20 worth of streaming apps included for a mere £9 extra on top of Sky’s basic plan priced at £15 per month. In addition to the streaming services, subscribers to the Ultimate TV plan will gain access to over 130 channels, featuring content from Sky Comedy, Sky Documentaries, Sky Crime, and more.
Furthermore, Sky Cinema users will enjoy a dedicated Disney movie channel directly integrated into their planner, providing easy access to Disney blockbusters without the need to open the Disney+ app. Existing Disney+ subscribers can seamlessly transfer their current plan to Sky, maintaining their profiles and viewing history.
Sky has emphasized the user experience with all supported apps accessible from the homepage, offering integrated content search and the ability to save shows and movies to a personalized Playlist for later viewing. The new Sky Ultimate plan will be available across Sky Glass, Sky Stream, and Sky Q platforms.
Sophia Ahmad, Sky’s Chief Consumer Officer, described the update as a pivotal moment for Sky and NOW, bringing together Sky, Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, and Hayu under a single subscription. She highlighted the integrated viewing experience and the added value of HBO Max being included at no extra cost for NOW Entertainment customers.
With a focus on innovation and convenience, Sky aims to streamline premium entertainment consumption for viewers. The update includes key features such as Netflix Standard with Ads, Disney+ Standard with Ads launching in March, HBO Max Basic with Ads debuting on March 26 in the UK & Ireland, Hayu with top shows available from July, and over 130 channels from Sky.
This move underscores Sky’s commitment to enhancing the viewing experience and making it easier for audiences to access a diverse range of entertainment options in one place.
