A shocking video captured the moment a runaway tipper truck collided with a garbage truck and multiple cars after running through a set of traffic lights in Klang, Selangor, Malaysia on October 21st. According to authorities, the incident occurred when the lorry lost control while descending a hill. Footage from a dashcam shows the traffic light turning green, signaling other vehicles to start moving.
The tipper lorry approached from the left at high speed, crashing into the vehicles, causing significant damage. The impact resulted in the front section of the garbage truck being torn off, and debris and mud scattered across the road.
Emergency services were alerted to the accident at 9:07 am and responded within nine minutes. The Selangor Fire and Rescue Department reported that the collision involved a tipper lorry, a garbage truck, and two Perodua Myvi cars. Upon arrival, they found three injured male foreign nationals and a 34-year-old woman, all of whom were rescued from their vehicles before the firefighters arrived.
Police later confirmed that a total of six people were injured, including the local 35-year-old tipper lorry driver. One victim sustained a broken leg. The authorities detained the lorry driver for questioning and initiated an investigation into the crash.
In a separate incident earlier in the year, a lorry was reported to have crossed a motorway central reservation, narrowly avoiding a collision with oncoming traffic. Stone described the heart-stopping moment when he had just seconds to react to avoid a catastrophic collision.
Despite the close call, no injuries were reported in both incidents.
