Nando’s is shaking up its rewards scheme this week – and it means you’ll get free food much faster. The chicken restaurant has relaunched its “Double Chillies” loyalty programme which will be running from today until March 23.

The promotion – which is back by “popular demand” – doubles the amount of Chillies you’ll get with each qualifying spend. Nando’s Rewards runs all year round and sees peri-peri fans receive Chillies each day they spend £7 or more at the chain. This means instead of getting one Chilli when you spend £7, you’ll get two chillies – so you’ll accrue free rewards at double the pace.

You need three Chillies to get the smallest Green Reward, while the top tier level is the Red Reward which requires ten Chillies. Here is what you can claim with each Nando’s reward:

The rewards don’t stop at 10 chillies either – they keep stacking up each time you visit, and you can collect and redeem rewards when you order directly from restaurants, Click & Collect, and Nando’s Delivery. The peri-peri chain has more than 470 restaurants in the UK and Ireland. You can find your nearest restaurant by using its store locator tool.

If you’re not already on Nando’s Rewards, you can still participate in the Double Chillies action. New customers can bag a bonus Chilli when they sign up, which means you only need to place one more order during the promotion period to bank your first Green Reward.

Last week, the Peri-Peri chicken chain announced its new Extra Saucy Wings, which are made with its PERI-Flamer secret sauce, which was previously only available to those who knew to ask for it. The sauce is a mix of PERI-Tamer and Hot and is described as “sweet, smoky and spicy”.

Nando’s fans will be able to order three, five or ten flame-grilled chicken wings covered in PERI-Flamer and drizzled with creamy yoghurt dressing. The launch of Extra Saucy Wings follows the return of Creamy Salad Dressing in February after it was taken off the menu in 2021.

Other recently announced new menu items include the Garlic Churrasco Burger which uses garlic bread as its bun. The burger contains two flame-grilled chicken thighs, pickled red onions, mixed salad leaves and all-new Smoky Churrasco PERinaise, served in a garlic bread burger bun.

Nando’s has also unveiled a spicy take on macaroni cheese. The new Peri-Mac and Cheese is made up of cheesy macaroni with a crunchy, garlic Peri-Peri crumb topping. It comes after Nando’s said in November last year this it will step up its restaurant opening plans after “strong customer demand” saw its sales surpass pre-pandemic levels.

The Peri-Peri chain said it will open 14 new restaurants over the current financial year, including sites that have already opened in Edinburgh, Newcastle, Doncaster, Taplow, Bognor Regis, Watford, Northampton and Belfast. In the financial year to February 2024, the hospitality chain opened 17 restaurants, with 11 of these in the UK and Ireland.
