Apple has had a hectic week, unveiling a range of new products, including the iPhone 17e, upgraded iPad Air, and new MacBook Pro with M5 processors. The latest announcement from Apple introduces a much more affordable laptop called the MacBook Neo, featuring a colorful design, impressive performance, and a 13-inch high-resolution display for only £599.
Compared to the latest MacBook Air, the Neo comes at a significantly lower price of £500. It is powered by Apple’s A18 Pro-series smartphone processor and offers efficient performance for daily digital tasks, running macOS with access to popular applications like Microsoft Word and iMovie.
The MacBook Neo boasts over 15 hours of battery life, two USB-C ports, a 1080p FaceTime HD camera, Touch ID, dual side-firing speakers with Spatial Audio and Dolby Atmos support, a Magic Keyboard, and Multi-Touch trackpad. Available in Silver, Indigo, Blush, and Citrus, the laptop can be pre-ordered now and will hit stores next week.
Apple’s senior vice president of Hardware Engineering, John Ternus, expressed excitement about the MacBook Neo, highlighting its affordability and unique features, such as a durable aluminum design, Liquid Retina display, Apple silicon-powered performance, all-day battery life, and macOS capabilities. Ternus emphasized that the MacBook Neo is a one-of-a-kind laptop tailored for a broader audience.
