“Community Mourns 14-Year-Old Rugby Player Killed in Car Crash”

A local community is grieving the loss of a 14-year-old boy who tragically passed away in a car accident. The incident occurred near a farm in the Llangynog area, situated between Carmarthen and St Clears, on Wednesday afternoon. The teenager, identified as Leon Arundel, was rushed to the hospital following the collision but succumbed to his injuries the next day. Leon was an active member of the Carmarthen Quins under-15 rugby team.

To honor Leon’s memory, a minute of silence will be observed before the club’s upcoming match, with a number one shirt symbolizing his position to be placed on the field as a tribute.

Dyfed-Powys Police confirmed the details of the tragic event, expressing condolences to Leon’s family. Various sports clubs that Leon was a part of have been sharing heartfelt messages on social media platforms, remembering him fondly. Whitland Cricket Club and St Clears AFC, where Leon also participated, expressed deep sorrow at his sudden passing and postponed fixtures in respect. Carmarthen Quins Minis & Juniors conveyed their sadness at the loss of a valued team member and extended sympathies to Leon’s loved ones.
