“Hollywood Producer Receives 146-Year Sentence for Model Murders”

A Hollywood producer, David Pearce, has been sentenced to nearly 150 years in prison for the rape and murder of two models. The judge’s ruling on Wednesday ensures Pearce will remain incarcerated until 2171.

This extensive sentence follows Pearce’s conviction for the fatal drug overdoses of Christy Giles, 24, and Hilda Marcela Cabrales-Arzola, 26, on November 13, 2021. Pearce had given the women drugs at his Beverly Hills residence after meeting them at a party earlier that day. The victims were abandoned outside different Los Angeles hospitals by unidentified individuals.

In addition to these crimes, Pearce, 42, was found guilty of multiple sexual assaults on seven other individuals between 2007 and 2021. Judge Eleanor Hunter imposed a 146-year sentence, including maximum terms of 25 years to life for each murder, along with additional penalties for the sexual assault charges.

During the sentencing, Judge Hunter criticized Pearce, stating, “You’re the worst kind of criminal, Mr. Pearce…You’re charming, you’re smart, you’re a manipulator, and you’re extremely goal-driven. You fit the role … Not once have I seen a genuine issuance of some sort of remorse. No sense of compassion for Hilda and Christy or anyone else.”

While Cabrales-Arzola was resuscitated at the hospital, she suffered irreversible brain damage and remained in a coma for almost two weeks before passing away on November 24. Unfortunately, Giles was already deceased when she arrived at the hospital. Prosecutors argued that Pearce’s statement to a friend, “dead girls can’t talk,” indicated his sinister intentions.

Pearce denied directly administering the drugs to the victims and claimed he did not witness them consuming any substances upon returning to his home. He also denied the sexual assault allegations against him.

Fernanda Cabrales-Arzola, Hilda’s sister, expressed frustration that Pearce had not been incarcerated sooner, citing previous rape allegations made against him by the LAPD between 2007 and 2020.

Pearce’s co-defendant, Brandt Walter Osborn, faced charges of accessory after the fact but the jury could not reach a verdict. A mistrial was declared due to a deadlock among jurors.
