Chilling video footage has documented the aftermath of a devastating drone attack on a Ukrainian nursery carried out by Vladimir Putin. Distressed children were witnessed screaming and crying as they were evacuated from the wreckage caused by a series of strikes at a preschool in Kharkiv. Tragically, one person lost their life, and seven others sustained injuries in the incident.
Videos captured fire officials rushing through the streets, carrying the frightened children to safety. Fortunately, all 48 children were successfully evacuated following the Wednesday morning attacks. Regrettably, an adult male was found deceased, and seven individuals were injured during the Russian assault.
Heart-wrenching images revealed the nursery’s roof collapsed, whiteboards destroyed, shattered glass strewn across the floor, and children’s desks buried under debris. Thick plumes of smoke billowed from the damaged structure.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky condemned the attack as a blatant act of aggression, describing it as a mockery towards peace efforts. Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov confirmed a direct hit on the kindergarten, resulting in a devastating fire.
Zelensky took to social media to assure the public that all the children had been relocated to shelters, although they were exhibiting signs of acute stress. He emphasized that there could be no justification for targeting a kindergarten in a drone strike, denouncing Russia’s escalating audacity.
The incident occurred just before a meeting between Trump and Putin was canceled, prompting Trump to authorize Ukraine’s use of specific long-range missiles provided by Western allies. This decision lifted a key restriction, enabling Kyiv to target deep within Russian territory and exert pressure on the Kremlin, as per US officials.
In a separate incident, Ukraine launched British-made Storm Shadow cruise missiles at a chemical plant in Russia’s Bryansk region, announced the General Staff of Ukraine’s Armed Forces on social media, labeling it a successful strike. Ukrainian forces stated that the targeted plant produced ammunition components utilized by the enemy to attack Ukraine’s territory.
This development transpired following a change in protocol where approval for such attacks shifted from Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth to General Alexus Grynkewich, the top US general in Europe and NATO commander.
The missile strike coincided with a pledge by PM Keir Starmer and other European leaders to intensify economic and defense industry pressure on Russia until Putin agrees to peaceful resolutions.
