An elderly landlord reportedly shot and killed a naked intruder who forcibly entered his residence, causing significant injuries by body-slamming him onto concrete. The 79-year-old landlord, a military veteran, bravely defended himself against the intruder who had entered a residential building on Tujunga Avenue in Los Angeles, USA. Witnesses observed the intruder’s aggressive actions, including lifting and violently slamming the elderly man onto the concrete driveway, prompting the landlord to fire several shots in self-defense.
According to Captain Warner Castillo of the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), witnesses recounted that the suspect physically assaulted the landlord, leading to the shooting incident. The elderly man, described by neighbors as kind and friendly, was swiftly taken to a hospital following the altercation, with his current condition undisclosed.
Fortunately, the women who alerted authorities were unharmed. One witness recalled hearing the disturbance and initially mistaking it for a house fire upon seeing the naked intruder. An additional witness mentioned hearing gunshots after spotting the intruder. The witness detailed that the landlord fired more shots at the intruder after he fell to the ground.
CCTV footage captured the intruder wandering the neighborhood before the confrontation. A video from a local’s Ring doorbell camera showed the intruder approaching a residence and interacting with objects in the vicinity before moving along the street. Another witness mentioned the intruder attempting to access the property where the incident occurred after noticing an open gate.
