The global community was left in disbelief after surveillance footage captured a 12-year-old girl returning home from school only to vanish and later be found dead in a trunk near her parents’ workplace. Shockingly, it has come to light that she endured a harrowing ordeal of alleged rape, torture, and murder at the hands of Dahbia Benkired, an Algerian woman residing in the same apartment complex with her sister, who was facing deportation from France.
In a courtroom session this week, distressing details emerged of the tragic events leading to the young girl’s demise, including accounts of her being sexually assaulted, attacked with sharp objects, and ultimately suffocated by Benkired. It is speculated that the vicious act was carried out as retribution for the girl’s mother denying Benkired access to the apartment block.
Medical evidence presented in court revealed that the victim sustained 38 wounds to her back and neck before succumbing to asphyxiation. The court was shown images of the girl’s injuries, depicting the physical, psychological, and emotional anguish she endured.
During the trial, it was disclosed that Benkired, now 27, immediately confessed to the heinous crime and expressed remorse to the victim’s family. The defendant, who had settled in France in her teenage years, faced expulsion proceedings prior to the tragic incident. Police discovered incriminating items, including blood-stained knives, in her residence.
The victim’s family, clad in themed t-shirts, attended the court proceedings seeking justice for their beloved Lola. Additionally, revelations about Benkired’s troubled past, alleging abuse and a history of mental health struggles, were brought to light during the investigation.
As the trial unfolds, the court aims to establish the motive and circumstances surrounding the events, despite Benkired’s admission of guilt. The accused potentially faces a life sentence as per French law, as the legal process continues to unfold.
